July 2011 - Rocky Mountain Power is pleased to announce that the Qu'Appelle Dam Hydro Project has been selected by SaskPower as part of the 2011 Green Options (GO) Partner Program.  This award will enable Rocky Mountain Power to increase the maximum size of the run-of-river hydroelectric project from 0.5 MW to 2.0 MW.  The project is eligible to receive a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) from SaskPower. May 2010 - Grasslands Renewable Energy today announced a major milestone in the development of its Montana based Wind Spirit Project. Grasslands has executed letters of intent, which include initial financial contributions, with ten wind energy developers from across Montana and the Northern Plains to join its Wind Spirit Project. These ten developers account for over 3,000 MW of clean, renewable wind energy that will be aggregated, firmed and delivered to energy consumers. read more

January 2008 - Rocky Mountain Power has established its first renewable energy project company called Grasslands Renewable Energy, LLC for the purpose of developing the Wind Spirit Project. Grasslands is 77.5% owned by RMP and 22.5% owned by Absaroka Energy, LLC www.absarokaenergy.com. Grasslands will be based in Bozeman, Montana.
